Ananse FM's Vroom Trivia Challenge Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms & Conditions ("T&Cs") carefully before participating in the Ananse FM's Vroom Trivia Challenge (the "Contest"). By participating, you agree to be bound by these T&Cs.

  1. 1. Contest Organizers The Dream with Ananse @ 5’s SMS Trivia Challenge is jointly organized by Vroom Technologies and Ananse FM (collectively, "the Organizers").
  2. 2. Contest Name & Purpose The Contest is titled " Dream with Ananse @ 5" and is designed to provide Ananse FM listeners, particularly those tuned into "Dream with Ananse @ 5," with an engaging daily sms trivia experience and the opportunity to win prizes.
  3. 3. Contest Period: The Contest will commence on 13th October 2025 at 10:00 GMT and will run for a period of 180 (one hundred and eighty) consecutive days, concluding on 10th April 2026 at 23:59 GMT.
  4. 4. Eligibility

    4.1. The Contest is open to all residents of Ghana who are 18 years of age or older at the time of registration.

    4.2. Participants must have an active mobile phone number registered with a Ghanaian telecommunications provider.

    4.3. Employees, directors, and agents of Vroom Technologies, Ananse FM, their affiliated companies, their immediate families, and anyone professionally connected with the Contest are not eligible to participate.

    4.4. Participants must be legally capable of entering into and complying with these T&Cs.

    5. 5. How to Participate & Pricing

    5.1. Registration:

    5.1.1. To participate, listeners must first register for the Contest.

    5.1.2. Registration is a one-time fee of GHS 10.00 (Ten Ghana Cedis).

    5.1.3. To register, dial the shortcode *920*79# Upon successful registration and payment deduction, participants will receive a welcome SMS confirming their registration.

    5.1.5. The registration fee is non-refundable.

    5.2. Daily Trivia Questions:
    5.2.1. After successful registration, participants will dial the same shot code (*920*79#) to buy token of between GHS 1 to GHS 10 in order to answer questions for the day. 5 questions will be played in a day.

    5.2.2. Each daily trivia question SMS will incur a charge of GHS 1.00 (One Ghana Cedi) per question.
    5.2.3. Participants are required to send their answer (e.g., "A", "B", "C", or "D") to the short code *920*79#.

    5.2.4. The daily question and answer window will typically be from 08:00 GMT to 23:59 GMT each day. Questions sent outside this window may not be scored.

    5.2.5. By sending an answer to the daily question, the participant agrees to the GHS 5.00 charge being deducted from their mobile money account

    5.2.6. Failure to answer a daily question or insufficient money to receive the question/send an answer will result in no points for that day's question.

    5.3. Billing & Charges:
    5.3.1. All charges (registration fee and daily question fees) will be deducted directly from the participant's mobile money account after dialing the shot code by the participant.
    5.3.2. Participants are responsible for ensuring they have sufficient money to cover all applicable charges.
    5.3.3. Standard network charges may also apply for sending SMS, depending on the participant's mobile network provider.

    6. Scoring & Winner Selection
    6.1. Points will be awarded for correct answers to daily trivia questions. The specific point value for each correct answer will be communicated in the question SMS or accompanying messages.
    6.2. Participants' scores will accumulate over the Contest Period.
    6.3. Winners will be determined based on the total accumulated points throughout the Contest.
    6.4. In the event of a tie, the participant who achieved their score in the shortest cumulative time (based on the time stamps of their correct answers) will be deemed the winner. If a tie still persists, a random draw will be conducted among the tied participants.
    6.5. The Organizers reserve the right to introduce additional winning categories (e.g., weekly prizes, fastest correct answer for a specific question) during the Contest Period, which will be communicated via Ananse FM broadcasts and SMS.

    7. Prizes
    7.1. Details of the prizes (e.g.,auto rickshaw, TV, Laptop and gadgets, airtime) will be announced periodically on Ananse FM, particularly during the "Dream with Ananse @ 5" show, and via SMS to participants.
    7.2. Prizes are non-transferable, non-exchangeable, and cannot be redeemed for cash unless explicitly stated by the Organizers.
    7.3. Winners will be notified via the mobile number used for participation. The Organizers will make reasonable attempts to contact winners. If a winner cannot be reached after three (3) attempts within 72 hours, the prize may be forfeited, and another eligible participant selected.
    7.4. Winners may be required to provide valid identification (e.g., national ID, passport) before collecting their prize.
    7.5. Winners agree to participate in reasonable publicity and promotional activities related to the Contest, including but not limited to, being interviewed, photographed, and having their names and images used for promotional purposes by Ananse FM and Vroom Technologies, without further compensation. 7.6. The Organizers are not responsible for any additional costs or expenses associated with the acceptance or use of a prize.

    8. Disqualification
    8.1. The Organizers reserve the right to disqualify any participant who: a. Violates these T&Cs. b. Engages in fraudulent activity, harassment, or any activity that compromises the integrity or fairness of the Contest. c. Provides false or misleading information. d. Uses multiple mobile numbers to register or participate, giving them an unfair advantage.
    8.2. Disqualified participants will forfeit any accumulated points and potential prizes.

    9. Data Privacy
    9.1. By participating, you consent to the Organizers collecting and processing your personal data (name, phone number, and participation data) for the purpose of administering the Contest, contacting winners, and for promotional activities as outlined in these T&Cs.
    9.2. Your personal data will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws in Ghana.

    10. Limitation of Liability
    10.1. The Organizers are not responsible for any technical malfunctions, network errors, SMS delivery failures, or any other issues that may prevent a participant from registering, receiving questions, sending answers, or otherwise participating in the Contest.
    10.2. The Organizers shall not be liable for any loss, damage, or injury sustained by any participant as a result of participating in the Contest or accepting/using any prize.
    10.3. While every effort will be made to ensure the accuracy of trivia questions, the Organizers shall not be liable for any incorrect answers, content errors, or factual inaccuracies in questions or results.

    11. Modifications & Termination
    11.1. The Organizers reserve the right to modify these T&Cs, the Contest mechanics, or to suspend or terminate the Contest at any time, for any reason, without prior notice.
    11.2. Any changes will be communicated via Ananse FM broadcasts and/or through SMS to registered participants. Continued participation after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified T&Cs.

    12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
    12.1. These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ghana.
    12.2. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with this Contest shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ghana.
